An unusual cabinet plate made by the Jaeger & Co. in Marktredwitz, Bavaria ca. 1902. However, the plate remained plain white for 66 years until a woman named Irene handpainted the lovely Dogwood blossoms you see presented here. Many fine Bavarian china companies made these blanks and exported them for decoration. These were apparently old stock and came to the US after WWII and were used as originally intended for hobbyist china painters. This is a beautiful work of art, signed by the artist and also dated 1968. The J&C mark was used in 1902. An interesting piece.
