This takes the cake. .and the pie, bread, other baked goods or even a casserole dish to your pot luck dinner, family celebration or church social. Lock down the lid of this light weight and easy to carry cake keeper and it is ready to travel. Mid-Century homemakers used the cake keeper to store homemade baked goodies. It keeps your cake fresh and moist. The barbecue chef with a fork and a Scottie Dog stand in front of a brick barbecue grill with logs stacked beside it. The brown and black artwork stands out well against the cream colored background. There are four parts to the carrier. The base is where the cake is placed. The 5.5" high artwork section covers the cake, The top of that section holds the pie or casserole and the 2" high top piece fits into the edge of the center section. The wire handle snaps under the base plate and around the black knobs on the sides of the cakecover and over the finial knob of the pie keeper. It measures 9" high at the top of the wire handle when assembled. It is in good condition for it's age. The metal shows some wear. The are some scratches on the paint, but the barbecue scene is in fully intact. The only marking is PATENT PENDING stamped on the cake cover.
