A wonderful baby cup made before the Civil War--The double "C" scroll handle holds the repousse floral body of the cup.( the same design on both sides)It has a beaded rim and greek key die roll applied on the base -The bottom is not gold washed - just lighting - in an effort to get a pic of this early Gorham mark -- with the Lion facing left - instead of right as in the later years. --The engraving is a later date -- perhaps given as a gift to a grandchild at the turn of the century - In any case -- we welcome your questions about this piece as well as our collection of baby silver -- flatware and holloware .
