One of the many books from the Estate of Francis P. Fretwell that Dogtreasures.com will be selling. The library is the largest privately owned collection of dog books in the world. Mr. Fretwell was the owner of Monfret Kennels, which bred champion standard poodles. He was former president and governor of the Poodle Club of America, and the Italian Greyhound Club of America. He also served as a delegate to the American Kennel Club for decades. His wonderful collection of books has been carefully maintained. Aunt Hannah and Seth. By James Otis. New York: Thomas Y. Crowell & Co., 1900. 12mo., 109pp., green cloth with color illustrated pastedown, b&w frontis, illustrated title page. A story of a small white [West Highland White Terrier?] dog. Juvenile ﬁction. Cloth has a few rubbed spots, and there are a few light stains on the front pastedown. Spine has some cloth loss (insect damage?). Mr. Fretwell's bookplate on front fixed endpaper. Front hinge just a little weak. A nice, clean interior. Good condition. [FF8833] [DT25]
