This is a very nice, 99% like new antique Atkins stair saw. It is much less common than the rare Disston stair saw! It is also a bit bigger than the Disston model, measuring 13" long overall, and has a 8" long blade with 10 points per inch. A very specialized saw, used for building stairs, this type of saw was not in the average carpenter's tool box even in the early 1900's when it reached it's selling peak. We see very few in this condition today. It is marked on one side between the brass round head screw heads, "E.C. ATKINS & CO. INDIANAPOLIS IND.". There is no cracks, chips or any damage to the saw, some darkening on the finish, and a few minor scratches and dings. Very nice!
