This tile is embossed with flowers, leaves and stems. Matte glazes of green, blue, yellow and brick red. Made by the Mueller Mosaic Tile Company of Trenton New Jersey. They made a high quality product with excellent glazes but remain under-appreciated because their work was rarely marked.
Measures 2.8 inches by 5.5 inches. It is shown in Mueller's catalog as design number 714-M Polychrome Bas Relief. The condition is good with a couple of chips on the borders and a chunk of cement on the back. This tile purportedly came from a building in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Tiles like this are invaluable reference pieces that can be used to compare glazes on other unmarked tiles and identify them.
