Gravy boat with attached under-tray, hand-painted with gold Art Deco sun rays. Made by the Karlsbad factory in Czechoslovakia during the Nazi occupation, 1939-45, hence the German spelling of "Carlsbad". Originally decorated with floral bands that have been removed to accommodate the more stylish Deco design, as can be seen in the second photo. Unsure if this was done at the factory, or by a separate decorating studio, but it's quite striking, none-the-less. Measures 6" x 10" x 4 1/8"h. Has one painted over factory flaw as shown, no other chips or cracks; gold in good condition overall. Inglenook Antiques...Established 1990.
