FIRST EDITION, first issue. This 1920 appearance preceeds the printed hardcover of 1921. Delicate printed wraps softcover with blue and pine illustration of the play. Small closed tears at the edges and light wear. Previous bookshop embosed name at bottom right corner of title page. Title page has slight glue residue. This is housed in a custom quarter dark orange morocco slipcase with raised bands and gilt lettering on spine with a custom orange cloth chemise. The cloth is lightly soiled. Overall a VERY GOOD copy in a VERY GOOD custom slipcase. Good gift item for the Millay fan. Edna St. Vincent Millay (February 22, 1892 October 19, 1950) was an American lyrical poet and playwright and the first woman to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. She was also known for her unconventional, bohemian lifestyle and her many love affairs. She used the pseudonym Nancy Boyd for her prose work.
