This picnic basket is made of woven splints and is from the early 1900's. The lid is on two hinges and is made of slats and has a brown (once elastic?) strip nailed across the inside to hold utensils. There is a smaller till basket which rests inside the rim with metal brackets. Both the large and small basket have bent slat handles. There is one slat on the front bottom left corner of the large basket which has some damage. The till basket has two damaged slats on the front left corner and a couple of smaller chipped slats. This is relatively small damage considering it rubs against the larger basket as it is taken in and out. There are no makers marks that I could find. These baskets are in good, sturdy condition.
