A beautiful walking cane with Bristol Blue Glass Rondel knob, sterling silver collar, marked 925, ebony shaft and original horn ferrule. Circa 1920 indate.


Bristol Blue Glass has been made in Bristol, England since the 18th century. During the late 18th century Richard Champion, a Bristol merchant and potter , making porcelain was working with a chemist, William Cookworthy. Cookworthy was looking for good quality cobalt oxide to give blue glaze decoration on white porcelain and he found it in Saxony.

Lazarus and IsaakJacobs were the most famous makers of Bristol Blue Glass in 1780s.Their company held warrant and made glass for the aristocrats of Europe.
