Antique Victorian Ornate Brass and Black Collar Cufflink Box. This is a wonderful piece, very well preserved with ornate details and an extra compartment not normally seen on collar boxes. This box has a what I believe is called a leatherette finish, the top has three applied pieces, a torch along with two floral pieces. The two latches on the front are also very ornate and I am sure that all of these pieces are brass that would most likely shine up if cleaned.
The top opens to reveal a dark green satin lining, there is a form for the collar and a brass colored piece in the lid to hold the cuff links. It also has a rare second compartment on the base, this opens up to hold whatever else one may want to store such as tie tacks or a pocket watch.
This piece is in wonderful condition, even the paper cover on the bottom of the box is intact, the outside is in lovely condition, there is slight lifting at one seam in the back but this could easily be repaired if desired. The satin lining is intact except for a spot on the inside of the collar form, this can be seen in the picture. It is 6 1/2" tall by 6 1/4" by 6 1/4", wonderful condition for a piece of this age.
