This well cast Late 19th Century Antique Victorian Brass "Lion" Doorstop would originally have had an iron weight inserted in the base in order to give added stability when placed to hold open a heavy door. As it is, with this now missing, the piece remains a most attractive item, ideal for use either for it's former purpose, or simply as a decorative object.
