Gorgeous Victorian amethyst glass water or lemonade set. The pitcher is 13" to the top of the spout and has a 5-1/2" long applied handle. It has a diagonal frosted band from the top right to the bottom left of one side, with small blue and tiny yellow enamel flower heads. On each side of the band are patterns of white dots. Sprays of peach and blue flowers decorate both sides of this band from top to bottom. The lip of the pitcher, along with a raised band towards the bottom are painted gold, but some of this is worn in places. The inside of the pitcher has 16 panels. There are 6 4" matching tumblers with 10 panels on the inside. There is wear to the gold paint on these as well. There are no chips or cracks in any of these pieces. Other than the wear on the gold paint, they are all in excellent condition. This set is listed in Dugan/Diamond The Story of Indiana, Pennsylvania Glass" by Heacock, Measell & Wiggins (1907).
