This is a unique and extremely rare authentic 17th Century Turkish Yatagan Sword Karabela. This sword is not very decorated but is unique in the world class. Many yatagans are in museums collection all over the word including Turkish collections, but they don’t have anything like this. What makes this yatagan so special? Point No 1 is the Karabela hilt. Point No 2, the rare17th century Ottoman cross guard found only in museums. Point No 3, an extremely long blade of 31 inches; the entire length of the sword is 37 inches. Point no 4, one very wide and shallow groove on each side of the blade instead of the typical triangular or T shape. The Karabela hilt is made of two pieces of brown horn riveted by three iron rivets. On one side of the grip are two brass studs. The horn has some chips and edge cracks. The brass frame on the middle section of the hilt has old time period soldering, near the cross guard. The blade is signed with the maker’s seal deeply stroke into the blade. The sword is slightly pitted and was cleaned from rust by hand in a professional way. This very long blade is slightly bent and not perfectly straight. The sword does not have any modern repairs and is 100% authentic. All our artefacts are accompanied by a Certificate Of Authenticity.
