Antique 18th-19th century Turkish Ottoman Sword Yatagan with characteristic ear shaped hilt. DETAILS: The hilt is made of two large pieces of walrus ivory mounted in silver metal decorated with bands of fine filigree bead work of open wire work and set with seven rounded raised corals with straight single edged blade with narrow fuller. The Yatagan sword was very popular not only in Turkey but also in many Balkan states and some Eastern European countries such as Ukraine and Hungary. Overall length: 60,5cm (23 3/4inches).
