A wonderful antique Staffordshire transferware platter that represents the full "View of Newburgh" scene of Newburgh New York which is located on the Hudson River. This beautiful picturesque scene has homes along the river, boats, farm animals, a country road and mountains in the background with a wide floral border. Platter is from Jacksons American Scenery Series and has the ribbon cartouche mark "View of Newburgh" Jackson's Warranted mark on the back. Job & John Jackson c. 1831 - 1835 Burslem Staffordshire This platter measures approximately 18" x 15". There are a couple of minor glaze nicks / flecks on the edge and some light crazing here and there on the front side. Back side has some crazing and a separation most likely from the firing process when it was made. The platter is in great condition and glaze is still shiny. A very fine historical Newburgh platter. 3 pounds 13 ounces
