Antique Spiral Staircase Found in Central South France This impressive staircase has 20 steps and 20 beautifully cast iron grilles. It is approximately 110 years old and is from an area just south of Clermont, France. There might be a few minor repairs to do to a couple of the lower stairs, but as a whole, this piece is very sturdy and very capable of supporting everyday use. As you can see from the photo above, the risers are supported by iron slats, still very strong to this day. Of course, as with many antiques, utility can be put aside for someone who truly appreciates this wonderful piece as a grand work of art, capable of standing on its own in the middle of a room.
