This is a very special antique silverplated trombone. The player "Rex" must have been a very special band member and trombone player. I tryed to get a photo of the etching. On the horn there is a very ornate etched design that measures 5 1/2" x 7". "REX" is stamped inside a diamond shape toward the top of the design. Also etched in the design is Made by "BRYANT NEWELL CO" (in a very impressive font) Detroit, Mich. Close to the rim of the horn it is stamped in large letters U.S.Q.M.D. I wish I had the time to research this piece. It is really special. The trombone measures 45". The trombone has dings here and there, but, nothing major and one place with a little silver loss. It does have the case, but it is in very bad shape. You can see that it is made of wood under the covering.
