Antique Silver & Rhinestone Necklace
Dainty silver and prong set rhinestone lavalier style necklace dating from the early 1900's. The center triangle has 15 rhinestones, the two triangles on each side have 10 rhinestones, and the end triangles have 6 rhinestones. The top left rhinestone in the center triangle has discolored slightly but is not too noticeable. All other rhinestones appear to be in great condition. Each triangle has three layers - the first with prong set rhinestones, a middle layer where the back points of the rhinestones set into a hole with a solid back, and a solid flat back layer. An acid test of the silver turned gray, indicating 77-90% silver. The chain consists of oblong textured links alternating with twisted links, and an old spring ring clasp.
