Fantastic salver, English made in London in 1774, George III period, maker is John Crouch & Peter Hannam . Shaped rim applied with beading between leaves, the center engraved with contemporary crest and motto above crossed reeds and below floral pendants on four claw and bowl feet . Motto (TOUCH NOT THE CAT BUT THE GLOVE) Item purchased by Sotheby's lot 323 McCone Collection New York Jan. 31st. 1992 . Excellent condition ! Diameter 13.77 in. ( 35 cm.) Weight 42.41 oz.
