This is an authentic Russian Cossack Belt from the 19th century. The silver is richly decorated with niello, no hallmarks on the silver. Probably belonged to a Christian Cossack since the belt is decorated with crosses. Coins from about 1850 are later replacements as is the hook in the clasp also original leather was replaced by a leather-like synthetic material. Length: 38 ½ inches (98 cm). Length of the front clasp 12 inches (30,5 cm).
