Antique Primitive Round-Top Wood Sample Trunk

Unavailable
Antique primitive round-top pine or ash sample trunk, circa 1877. This handsome trunk is a great size, measuring approximately 18.25 inches high, 32 inches wide, and 17.25 inches deep. It has a gently rounded lid, iron hardware, and rollers on the bottom which make it easy to move. The center closing lock snaps shut and was patented March, 1869 and April, 1877; there is no key. The two locks on either side of the center lock have latching mechanisms and were patented July 9, 1872. On the inside lid is a partial paper label which says D.C. & J.H. Lang, Wholesale Manufacturers of Trunks - Sample Trunks a Specialty, and the beginning of what looks to be Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. On the left side of the trunk is a wooden handle; the handle on the right side is missing. This sample trunk is in good primitive condition; there are missing pieces of metal strapping and not all wood pieces are intact. It has a wonderful overall look. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition. Shipping / packaging will be $25 - $55, based upon the zipcode of the buyer.
