From the series of twelve images created by John Moyr Smith for Mintons China Works illustrating scenes from the books of poetry by Thomson, entitled "The Seasons", here is "Summer -- Refulgent Comes". This series by Mintons is particularly sought after and, as Lockett describes it, was "clearly a prestige product" when it was made. The tile is polychrome and printed in five colors.
