This is a neat large antique medal made to commemorate the coming of age or reaching the majority age of 21 of a member of the English peerage in 1914. William Arthur Henry Cavendish- Bentinck, born 1893 became the Marquess of Litchfield then until he inherited the title Duke of Portland on the death of his father in 1943. His profile portrait is on one side of the medal and the reverse has the profile portraits of his parents the Duke and Duchess of Portland. The medal measures overall 1.5 inches in diameter. The medal is in good condition with a few dings and oxidation spots. It is a great piece of history and these type of commemorative medals for members of the royal family are difficult to find.
