Antique Mahogany Credenza in Louis XVI Style

Unavailable
This lovely antique credenza (sideboard or buffet or side cabinet) dates from the late nineteenth century and features neoclassical gilt bronze mounts and porcelain plaques depicting cherubs. Each side has three shelves with pierced gallery and the cabinet rests upon two turned front legs and two square rear legs in a style reminiscient of both Louis XVI and Thomas Sheraton of England. The top and frame is crafted from mahogany, and the front is decorated with burl veneer with string inlay, and the doors are made of kingwood. The interior has its original blue velvet lining. There is no key and the working condition of the lock is unknown. This credenza resides with our client in Manhattan and it may be seen in person by appointment. Additional images forwarded upon request.
