Antique Lyon & Healy Mandolin For Display

Unavailable
Antique primitive Lyon & Healy "Columbus" mandolin, circa 1892, with great visual appeal. This antique wood instrument, with rich, mellow wood tones and great patina, would make a wonderful display piece with its curved lines, brass tuners, ivory-colored tuning buttons, and green wood inlay. There is a Columbus trademark, dating it to circa 1892, inside the bowl and a brass tailpiece which has a patent date of March 10, 1891. "1874" is incised by hand into the handle. The mandolin measures approximately 23 inches long, 7.25 inches wide, and 5.5 inches deep; and weighs about 1.25 pounds. The mandolin is in fair to good condition, solidly built, with a handful of splits in the construction and some missing parts, making it an unlikely candidate for reconditioning. It has been left in its original state; lemon oil might bring out more richness in the wood. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition. Shipping / packaging / handling will be $12.50.
