Antique Johnson "Anylite" regulating lamp socket, a very early version of a dimmer switch. This device fits into a light socket, and has 2 connecting pull chains which regulate the brightness of the bulb. Impressed on the side is "40W, 125V, ANYLITE, PAT'D, TYPE-S".
