Antique Indian Lakshmi Hindu Temple Door

This elaborate and unique doorway, c1860, was styled by artisans from the south of India. Top panel has the image of LAKSHMI, the Indian Goddess of Wealth, who's flanked by elephants known as GAJA LAKSHMI on each side. The large horses on eiher sides of the door are guarding the entire doorway. Elegantly molded door panels were uniquely designed with three different shapes. Made from solid beams of teakwood, it makes a formidable entrance! Measures 81" wide by 119" high by 44" deep. Recently refinished, professionally photographed and imported from India. Resides in storage in Cold Spring Harbor, NY (USA)
