It portrays Vasudeva, the father of Lord Krishna, carrying his son across the River Jumma to save him from the evil King Kamsa. The statue showcases Vasudeva's attire, which includes a long, flowing dhoti and a necklace that enhances his regal appearance. His face is adorned with a raised urna, and his hair is styled into a high chignon with an elaborate headdress that adds to his majestic look.

 

The statue also features baby Krishna, who is wearing an ornate necklace, armbands, and armlets that accentuate his beauty. He is holding a vajra, a symbol of power and strength, in his right hand and a ball in his left hand, representing his playful nature. Baby Krishna's head is adorned with an intricate headdress that complements his divine aura.

 

This antique bronze statue is a testament to the artistry and craftsmanship of ancient Indian sculptors. It is a rare and valuable artifact that provides a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of India.

The statue is mounted on a later-added wooden stand with the sticker label "OUDE KUNST NEDERLAND CERTIFIED OVER 100 YEARS OLD."
