Antique Horse Dentist Tooth Float

Unavailable

This is a quality made rasp like file that was most likely used for horse teeth. Sometime also called a float. Others argue that this tool was used in horse tooth care. ? This one has an nice turning on the handle, nice looking, and is solid, but has a minor split near the brass ferrule, solid still because of the ferrule. The handle alone is 6.5" long, and the overall length of the rasp from end to end is 18.5". The iron is clean, no rust, and just a few tiny pits noted. There is two early name stamps on the main shaft, but they are hard to read, one of them seems to say "STUMPA" A really nice 19th century tool!
