Extraordinary heraldic oil on board painting of the coat of arms / blazon of the city of Boulogne sur Mer (Pas de Calais) signed by the artist. This coat of arms was granted to Boulogne in 1830 by Charles X. The inscription on lower right reads as follows: 'Peint & Ofert par C. Campani a la ville de Boulogne Sur Mer.' It consists of a gold shield with three red dots (House of Boulogne) and a swan (symbolizes love of poetry, grace and perfection) topped by crowns and an image of the the Virgin and Child. In very good used condition with minor imperfections to frame as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number. Measurements: Frame: 23.5" by 27.75"; Image: 23 3/8" by 19" approximately.
