Beautiful antique hand-made chess board with inlaid birdseye maple and possibly walnut or oak. This game board is a work of art, painstakingly constructed of beautiful woods and beautifully finished. It has a wonderful deco look, with inlaid diamonds of black on the 4 sides. The board has aged to a wonderful patina. The board measures approximately 7/8 inch high and 18.25 inches square. The actual chess / checker board measures approximately 11 inches square, with each square measuring approximately 1 5/16 to 1 3/8 inches on a side. This piece is in good to very good condition, with some surface scratching and some warping at the 4 corners. It sit fairly flatly on a table. It looks wonderful on a polished wooden table and would be very handsome hung on a wall. You could even play chess or checkers on it. Shipping / handling will be $13.50.
