Antique 19th century circa 1860 FiveShot Double Action Percussion Revolver by the English Gunsmith R.H. Bate. Details: An engraved Octagonal barrel top-strap signed R.H.BATE and stamped with Birmingham proof marks. The frame, trigger guard, and but-cup engraved with scrolling foliage with the cylinder engraved around the forward edge. Such types of revolvers were imported into the USA during the civil war period of time and were used by the Confederate Army. Conditions: Missing spring and wooden grips. Measurements: Overall length: 26 cm (10 1/4 in), length of the barrel: 12,7 cm (5 inches). Reference: English Gunmakers by Witt Bailey and Douglas A. Nie. Page 29.
