Exuberant but controlled design is manifest in this antique German jugendstil majolica tile panel from Norddeutsche Steingutfabrik (NSTG), c. 1905, depicting a stylized heart with great energy. The bottom tile is in near perfect condition; the top tile has light wear to some of the high points of the tile and an upper right corner flake; there is a slight clip to the lower right corner that is under the glaze and original to the tile.
