This is a very good example of the delicacy of fine jewelry making in early 19th Century England. The diamonds are a combination of Old European cut, and rose cut, and are set in both silver and gold. The complex and delicate design employs leafage, flower heads, scrolls, and ribbons. It is surmounted by two rings so that it may be used as a pendant. The later addition of a pin allows its use as a brooch as well. Two single cut rubies beautifully set off the old cut diamonds. this is a true find for collectors of early jewelry.
