ANtique Georgian GOLD RARE Bird locket & ER

Unavailable
This rare Georgian early 1800's ellensburg agate ( 3rd rarest in the world) and ruby figural hair locket/pendant with matching earrings are something to behold! The detail on this is so amazing with tiny birds at the top with tiny ruby eyes, and very rare ellenburg agate cabachons. The brooch which is also a pendant, has an hinged back with clear glass ( two pieces both hand cut)on the back and front to show the hair that would have been put into it as a memorial to a loved on. The scarcity of this stone is such that finding even the smallest of pieces is considered a rare find. Clouds, streaks, or bands may occur in the agate and graduates from nearly opaque to transparent. These are transparent and opaque with the eerieness of opals. This is most likely American and hand wrought. THe brooch / pendant is almost 2" long and tests at 14kt. The earrings are 1/4" long and each has three tassel drops. The layering on this set is so tiny that I can't even imagine the craftsman that made this being able to do such tiny work. This set certainly deserves to be in a museum. THese memorial pieces were always individually made with no two alike. Don't miss out on a piece of jewelry history that can not be duplicated.
