ANtique French Locket St Anne genuine pearl necklace

Unavailable

Saint Anne was the mother of the Virgin Mary. According to the apocryphal Gospel of James, Anne and her husband Joachim, after years of childlessness, were visited by an angel who told them that they would conceive a child. Anne promised to dedicate the child to God's service. She is also the Patron Saint of housewives, grandmothers, cabinet makers, unmarried women, and women in labor. This antique sterling sacred heart St Anne medal sits in the center of this antique Holy locket with its original cello frames to hold the photos inside. RICH old patina brings it to a deep bronze color that brings out the deep forest greens in this micromosaic 1900's piece that hold the locket to the genuine pearl necklace. Soft ivory or champagne colored pearls hold old rondelles with brilliant yet eerie moontstuck glass stones. Smokey topaz glass beads are captured in rich antique crown bead caps. This has such a rich assemblage of antique parts that make this necklace full of wonderful old Karma of women who loved their faith as well as their jewelry. The locket is large ( 1 3/4" long) with a soldered frame of a leaf shaped fleur de list. The bale on this is original to the locket and as you can see it has beautiful cut work in it. The necklace is 23" with an additional 3" drop for the locket and micromosaic adornment. VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our pieces regardless of which site it comes from.
