One from the series of twelve issued by Wedgwood, c. 1882, the design variously ascribed to Thomas Allen, but probably Helen J.A. Miles, illustrating characters from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." A wonderful series to collect. This tile depicts "Oberon" and is printed in a bright medium blue on white clay and is in good condition with an lower left edge chip as shown; finished in a soft, glossy glaze.
