One from the series of twelve issued by Wedgwood, c. 1882, the design variously ascribed to Thomas Allen, but probably Helen J.A. Miles, illustrating characters from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." A wonderful series to collect. This tile depicts "Moth" and is printed in sepia brown on white clay and is in very good condition with wear at bottom corners and a slight left edge nick toward top as shown; finished in a soft, glossy glaze.
