One from the series of twelve issued by Wedgwood, c. 1882, the design variously ascribed to Thomas Allen, but probably Helen J.A. Miles, illustrating characters from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." A wonderful series to collect. This tile depicts "Peasblossom" and is printed in sepia brown on white clay and is in excellent condition with two lower edge nicks toward left as shown; finished in a soft, glossy glaze.
