Example from the wonderful series of "Birds" designed by L.T. Swetnam for Mintons China Works (Pattern No. 2063), c. 1886. The tile is finely printed in dark brown on a white clay body and finished with a glossy glaze. It is in good condition with an upper right corner chip that measures approximately .75" in length from the top edge on the front of the tile and is slightly larger on the reverse.
