Item Description:
This is a beautiful antique English lead glazed stained glass window. It has a traditional wooden frame and it features a beautiful *astragal lead glazed textured stained glass window with a distinguished design. One of the glass panels is cracked but it can be replaced if necessary otherwise it may show minor age appropriate signs of wear including wood imperfections but as shown it is overall in very good cosmetic and structural condition.

What is astragal (wood or lead) glazing? As it pertains to later period furniture, it is a method of securing glass to the straight, semi-circular, or shaped moldings found on glass doors and windows of furniture. On newer reproduction furniture, the astragal molding may set atop the glass to give the appearance of glazing where on older English furniture, it is not uncommon for each piece of glass to be cut to shape and glazed into the molding.
