ANTIQUE DUTCH SILVER REPOUSSE FIGURAL BOX /

Unavailable
You are bidding on a magnificent and very ornate Dutch Rococo style silver repousse box depicting Flemish figural 1700's scene . This spectacular piece is 6" wide, 4" deep and 3" high. Detail of the figural scene is exquisite, it is extremely difficult to capture the beauty, which eye so easily perceives. This box is well hallmarked (4 marks) and assayed at s'Gravenhage (Holland). VK is the manufacturers mark of Van Kempen in Voorschoten, in between Leiden and the Hague (something like the Gorham of the Netherlands). The lion indicates silver purity of 835/1000, we are not sure what stylized "B" and "Anchor" stands for. Excellent condition circa 1890-1910. Please note - this is solid silver - NOT silver plated piece.
