Antique Continental Marble & Plaster Table Ornaments or Bookends

This pair of nineteenth century, triangular shaped marble table ornaments feature polychrome decorated plaster surfaces with dolphins, eagle and scrolls, above a marble scallop shell mounted with matching coats of arms in bronze. There are minor marks, chips and scratches to the surfaces consistent with age. The coat of arms features a crowned, bicephalic eagle, sabor and globe with Maltese cross, similar to those of the Russian monarchy, and Hapsburg and Holy Roman Empires. Country of origin is unknown. Each measures approximately 22 x 10.7 x 4 in (55.9 x 27.3 x 10.2 cm)
