Extraordinary color engraving depicting Roman poet Virgil writing his epitaph after the painting by the same name by Angelica Kauffman (1741-1807) a Swiss-Austrian Neoclassical painter, engraved by Thomas Burke (1749-1815) an Irish engraver and published by Thomas Macklin (1752/3-1800), a 18th-century British printseller and picture dealer. Text on the page reads as follows: Virgil Writing his Epitaph Angelica Kauffman pinxt Burke Sculp.
