Antique Chinese Tea Tin. It has a hinged lid and decorated with Chines scenes of landscapes and pagodas. The condition is well worn. There are scratches and scrapes here and there. Most of the decoration is intact. The lid has a main issue. The surface is gewy. When I tried to gently clean it off the decoration or lithography came up as well. So I suspect that someone tried using an inappropriate cleanser on one time which picked up the paint too. Or it could be that very old kitchen grease is actually toxic enough to bind with the painted surface. Anyway I don't know what to do about the lid. It cannot be cleaned without removing the rest of the decoration however it doesn't look so good left as it either. The new owner can decide.
