Antique 19th century Chinese Qing Dynasty carved and pierced Jade figure of a maiden (possibly GUANYIN). Standing on a rocky pedestal, with a large peony, wearing a long robe tied with a sash, with her hair dressed in an elaborate topknot and looped trailing tresses. The stone is in variations of color, from celadon green, to pale lavender, and flecked brown spots. Please note that the pictures of the carving were taking with a strong light in daylight colors, the stone is not as intense and bright as in the photographs.
The last five pictures in the listing were taken in daylight, and under lights, to show the difference in the color of the stone.
DIMENSIONS: Height: 14 cm (5 1/2 in). Width at the widest point: 9.5 cm (3 3/4 in).
CONDITION: A small chip in the tresses on the back of the shoulders (please see attached picture), otherwise in good condition.
