SOLD Antique, early 19th century, Chinese military regulation broadsword Dao, Ching Dynasty period. Details: heavy and thick blade made from hand forged steel with long narrow groove on both sides, mounted in oval iron guard and pommel, the wooden grip is painted in black and has a small hole for the tassel.

MEASUREMENTS: The overall length is 91 cm (35 3/4 in). Length of blade: 74 cm (29 1/8 in)
CONDITION: A sign of usage and wear, the blade is lightly pitted overall, with minor wear; the wooden handle is chipped.

Finding an authentic Chinese sword is very difficult even for people dealing in antique arms and armour professionally on a daily base.
