Carved Chinese desk or console table with two locking drawers, with brass pulls. Under the drawers are hidden storage areas. The carvings on the drawers, front spandrels, and spandrels below the apron are repeated on the side and the back of the desk. - like a mirror image. The drawers and the waist are carved in patterns of scrolls and florals. The legs are slightly splayed in the classic Chinese style. The finish is in excellent condition and is dark brown. The distance from the underneath of the front apron to the floor is 21.25 inches (54cm) - enough leg and thigh room when sitting on a low stool.
