Antique cedar recipe box, with 28+ recipes, 41 blue and manila dividers, 8 home health remedies, and 18 blank 3"x5" cards. This wonderful vintage cedar box has a red, gold, and black foil RECIPES label on the front. Most of the cards have recipes cut from the Better Homes and Gardens magazine; some are hand-written. Recipes include Liberty Pickles, Banana Cake, Welsh Rabbit, Scalloped Chicken with Mushroom Sauce, Peach and Roquefort Cheese Salad, and Marengo Hollandaise. Home health remedies, all hand-written, include Hand Lotion, Medicated Oil, Life Drops, a remedy for chronic bronchitis, and Cough Syrup. This item is in good to very good condition. The dividers and recipe cards are yellowed and worn with age and use, but still very readable and usable. The box is solid and intact, and still has the cedar aroma.
